Australian Native Flowers are sought after locally and around the world, because many are unique to the Australian continent.  Australia boasts a large variety of vibrant and colourful array of flowers that bloom throughout the year. Here are some of the most naturally colourful flowers found in Australia.

  1. Waratah (Telopea speciosissima): The waratah is a striking, deep red flower that is the official floral emblem of New South Wales. It blooms from September to November and is commonly used in flower arrangements.
  2. Kangaroo Paw (Anigozanthos manglesii): The Kangaroo Paw is a unique flower that gets its name from its shape, which resembles a kangaroo’s paw. It comes in a range of colours including, red, pink, yellow and orange.
  3. Golden Wattle (Acacia pycnantha): The Golden Wattle is Australia’s floral emblem and is a bright yellow flower that blooms in late winter and early spring. It is a common sight in Australian parks and countryside.
  4. Flannel Flower (Actinotus helianthi): This delicate white flower has a soft, velvety texture that gives it a flannel-like appearance. It is native to the coastal regions of New South Wales and blooms from spring to summer.
  5. Mulla Mulla (Ptilotus exaltatus): is a purple feathery flower with leathery green leaves. It is native to dry, arid parts of Australia. It grows throughout most areas of Australia except the Nullarbor Plain, occurring geographically above a line drawn from Perth to Esperance.
  6. Blue Gum (Eucalyptus globus): The blue gum is a tall, majestic tree that produces large clusters of pink or white flowers. The leaves have a subtle silvery-blue tint and a refreshing fragrance.
